We are back from Antiques Week at Round Top where we set up at LaBahia...
this was my first show
I. had. a. blast!!!!
I will go through the highlights over the next few days
here we are at the beginning of set up day
*the wall of doors*
this life and living this dream would not be possible without this man
he allows me to be funky, creative and crazy at times all with this smile on his face....
And...
here is the booth after all day of setting up
dolling up
and fluffing up
My little handmade pumpkins were a hit...
some were velvet, some were cashmere (made from a thrift store sweater)
some were drop cloth and all embellished...
should have made more....
I am always interested in and excited to hear where these treasures are going and how they will be used...
this table and chairs was a true labor of love and they looked so cool together...
they were a marriage...
I did not find them together but they were meant to be together all along...
They were painted in ASCP olive green and old white with a Ralph Lauren glaze to finish them off.
The table top was stripped, sanded and stained in walnut
anyway...back to the story...the lady that bought this was buying it for her son, who is in his first home, out of college, working his first 'real job'. He does not live close by and she sent him pictures to get his opinion...after a day of pondering...and getting the "mom, just make a decision" answer from her son..
she bought it...
I would love to see it in his home....
I got the idea for these little vintage book journals from Melaine over at My Sweet Savannah
I had several retired librarians that LOVED them....
That sweet little check out counter was given to me by my sweet friend Traci...She had it in her garage and decided to not use it as she thought she would and asked if I would like it...
ummm....OF COURSE...
I was envied for my little check out counter and it worked perfectly....
And....none of this week would have been possible had it not been for my sweet booth neighbor Annette of Annette's Vintage Blanket Bingo
when I inquired about a booth after the spring show I was told 'no problem'
then come June there was "no room in the inn"...so to speak
I was so bummed but Annette unselfishly 'gave me' one of her booths
Annette has the most eclectic collection of 50's, 60's and 70's vintage goodies that anyone has ever seen and has quite the following at LaBahia
It is so fun to listen to the shoppers in her booth...it takes them back to their childhood or maybe even staying with granny for the summer...
Thanks Annette!!! this past week was soooo much fun!!!
Your booth was by far my favorite! So glad to have found you there!
