Club Chairs Slipcovered

I rearrange my living room for my Christmas tree. So when Christmas is packed away, I usually change something around. This year I wanted something different to go in the place of where the Christmas tree is set up so ....
I started looking around...
I have had these club chairs since the early 1990's..
at the time, we had moved into a major fixer upper
so I had to be thrifty when it came to furnishing it.
I found them at a resale store...

I think they were $40 each which at the time was a lot of money...
considering everything else that needed to done in that house....
but they were in great shape, sturdy, very heavy and not a blemish in the upholstery...
but they were a bit..... aged....
wouldn't you say?

I slipcovered them in a fabulous crazy floral...which worked great with my home at the time.....

you can see them here in the background....

now that I am going a little more farmhouse, vintage, cottagey all around different look...
I removed the slipcovers and moved the chairs to the garage....
with all my other projects...
so I had the boys haul them back in to see if they would fit..
well, wouldn't you know!!!
Of course, since this was not planned...
as most of my wild hair projects....
I did not have fabric set aside....
so I started digging around....
they are definitely a marriage of some coordinating fabrics that I had to make work to get them finished.

I used a tone on tone embroidered fabric leftover from my upholstery class, some drop cloth, some burlap and some hemp fabric that was recommended by Miss Mustard Seed here.
I think my color of hemp was more creamy, but ordered from the same supplier.
I will say....it is quite heavy and a little hard to work with but seems to be super durable.
so....here are more pics then you probably want of the slipcovers...
I am loving them...

One side of the cushion I used drop cloth and it just seemed a little...plain...
so I added some jute webbing off to one side...just enough...
on the other side I used the same embroidered fabric that is on the back...

The back, I closed with some big ole fat ties....You can't see them where the chairs are....
but who knows if they will stay here...
;))))

It would not be right if I didn't thank my family for putting up with my...
"hey I think I will do this right now projects"

because they have to put up with this....

    Thanks again!
